Snakes Out Of The Bible

Snakes out of the Bible

In the book of Genesis 3:1-24, we read the story of man's
original sin, that is disobedience to the clear word of God.

An interesting article taken from the Daily Telegraph,
Sydney, 18 March 2000, reads Snakes out of Bible

"Scientists have discovered fossils which suggest snakes
once walked the earth in the way described in the Biblical story of Adam and Eve....

...the remains found in Israel are of a species with tiny
hind legs.

They give credence to the story of the Garden of Eden, in
which the snake which tempted Eve was punished by God by being ordered to crawl
on his belly until the end of time.

The fossils were found several years ago in a quarry at Ein
Yabrud, near Jerusalem, which was an ancient marine environment.

But they had languished unrecognised in a museum drawer ever
since....

The snake has a distinctive, flexible skull structure that
would have allowed it to almost unhinge the jaw to dine on prey much larger that
the diameter of its head. It might have eaten small mammals ranging from
shrew-like creatures to early marsupials.

But the scientists admit its stubby hind legs are a mystery....

The intriguing new species, named hassiophis terrasanctus,
was unveiled in yesterday's Science journal." End Quote

Of course we believers in Almighty God are the sensible
members of society and do not need articles like this to prove that God said
what He meant and meant what He said.

There is no doubt that this serpent like creature sometimes
called the Devil, Satan, the Dragon or Lucifer is still around today but his end
is near, and the good news is he knows it.

Revelation 12:12 "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye
that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea ! for the
devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath
but a short time."

"How does he know he has a short time?" you may ask.
Answer -– he can read!!
