Israelis fear attacks

An article from Israel Today, 17 September 2001,
headlined "News from Jerusalem", tells us:

"According to a new poll, 59 per cent of Israelis are
afraid that Israel might be attacked by an Arab country in retaliation for a
possible US assault on Arab or Moslem countries. The poll, published today in
the mass circulation daily 'Yediot Ahronot,' questioned 509 people. A sign
of the jitters-Israelis have been lining up at gas mask distribution centers for
fear of another Iraqi attack like the one in 1991, during the Gulf War, when
Israel was hit by 39 Iraqi Scud missiles. Israel is concerned that Iraq has been
developing biological and chemical weapons, though experts question whether Iraq
still has the capability to launch missiles at the Jewish state. Army officials
said 9,000 Israelis had gas mask kits renewed at 23 distribution centers
throughout the country yesterday, compared to a daily average of 2,000."

And then at the same time, we see:

"Arab and Muslim Americans were enraged this week after the
FBI, the top US law enforcement agency, raided an internet company near Dallas
that has served as host for websites with alleged links to Middle East terror
groups.

In the face of the noisy complaints of Arab/Muslim activists,
the FBI has given few details about the searches...

The operation has temporarily shut down about 500 websites
served by the company...

Muslims regard both Emerson and Pipes as infamous pro-Israel
'Muslim-bashers,' prompting Islamic leaders to say the raid was part of an
'anti-Muslim witch hunt' promoted by the pro-Israel lobby in America..."

I thank the Lord that we have in our possession here at this
office, a book by Dumitru Duduman, entitled "Through the Fire Without Burning".
One page 161 of his book, he points out that in America at the time of these
catastrophes taking place, the Lord showed him that when the Americans think
there is peace and safety -– from the middle of the country, some of the people
will start fighting against the government (could these people be the Muslims
who are under attack at the moment by the average American who feels that every
Muslim is a threat to their security). The government will be busy with internal
problems and then from the ocean - from Cuba, Nicaragua and Mexico, they will
bomb the nuclear warehouses. When they explode, America will burn.

It is very clear therefore that America will never be the
same again. The Muslims have become the enemy. No matter whether they be good or
bad, they are all pictured the same in the eyes of those who have suffered such
humiliation at the hands of a few crazy bombers.

Thank the Lord for many old time preachers and songwriters
who wrote such songs as

Rock of Ages, cleft for me. Let me hide myself in thee.

With everything so unstable on earth, we would suggest at
this office that the only place of security is in the hands of the Lord and His
Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who says that He will protect us during times of
trouble.

It is good for the believer to learn such verses as Psalm 91:1:
"HE that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty."

Verse 5: "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day;"
Verse 6: "Nor for the pestilence that walketh
in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday."
Verse 9: "Because thou hast made the LORD, which is
my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;"
Verse 10: "There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall
any plague come nigh thy dwelling."
Verse 11: "for he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways."
