Harry Potter

There is no doubt we are living at the end of an age, for a
very strange phenomenon has come amongst us, and by that, I refer to Harry
Potter. J K Rowling, the author of these books, was an unknown character until
fairly recently, when suddenly the world media burst into print about her work
and announced that Harry Potter was coming. The strange thing is that although I
also am an author of seven books, this has never happened to me and the world
media never seems to announce that my books are coming on the market. We must
question, what is the reason for this?

We turn to Revelation 12:12, and read the following:

"Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in
them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come
down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a
short time." (emphasis added).

The question may be asked, how does he know he has a short
time? And the answer is, he can read the prophecies and knows that God's Word
will always be fulfilled exactly as it was predicted.

We quote from the Dominion newspaper, 20 November
2001:

"The Harry Potter film, a hugely hyped fantasy about a
young English wizard, held the North American box office spellbound, whipping up
a record US$93.5 million (NZ$226.77 million) in the first three days after its
release, according to studio estimates issued yesterday...

Based on the best selling children's books by English
author J K Rowling, the film opened on Friday in 3672 theatres across the United
States and Canada, and also in Britain where it is known as Harry Potter and
the Philosopher's Stone...

'It's just a win-win all the way around for us,' Mr
Fellman (Warner Bros distribution president) said. Warner Bros is owned by AOL
Time Warner Inc, which used other units such as its flagship America Online
business to promote the film...

Warner Bros was scheduled to begin shooting a sequel today,
with hopes that Harry Potter will become a huge franchise along the lines of the
Star Wars and James Bond films."

Now there is a witchcraft aspect to all this, and at least it
should be noted that J K Rowling said that the ideas for this book came to her
as she was holding a reading.

Anybody who is into occult practise or psychic phenomena will
understand the words holding a reading where spirit forces guide the mind
and even sometimes, the hand, which writes down notes, sometimes referred to as
automatic writing.

Now exactly how all this came about is not clear in the
natural, but in the spiritual, it becomes very obvious that Satan is realising
his time is short and therefore, is making sure that the satanic side of world
events is being promoted very thoroughly through the announcement of these
stories coming out not only in print, but also on film. At the same time, we see
another one of the same ilk called, Lord of the Rings, and this may well
dismay many Christians who are not aware that our God is stronger than the power
of the devil.

A very satisfying Scripture is found in the book of Isaiah 59:19 b,
which says:

"When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of
the LORD shall lift up a standard against him."

We would like to point out that since September 11 with the
attack on the Trade Center in New York and also the Pentagon in Washington DC,
the churches have been filled worldwide, Christians books particularly on
prophecy, are going well, and people are turning their lives over to the Lord
Jesus Christ, and thus the Word of God is being fulfilled again.

It is little wonder that God's Word calls all of us to "Choose
ye this day, whom you will serve", and as a born-again believer in Jesus
Christ, this writer says, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
