US Embasy Tel Aviv to Jerusalem
As one who has visited the Holy Land at least 18 times, I
take great delight in reading the verse from Zechariah 12:3, which tells
Jerusalem is the key to all Bible prophecy:
"And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome
stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in
pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it."
(emphasis added).
There is little doubt that Jerusalem's ownership is under
dispute as the following people are interested in having control of it:
- Israel see it as their eternal capital.
- The Palestinians would like to take it over.
- The Orthodox Church wants it.
- The Catholic Church wants it.
- The freemasons have an interest in it.
Many nations of the earth have their eyes fixed on Jerusalem,
for what ever happens in that city sends ripples out into the world situation.
Jerusalem was initially called the City of God and still is. It belongs to
Almighty God, and He gave it to the people of Israel who would bring forth,
through the seed of Isaac, our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour and redeemer. We
quote from Isaiah 7:14:
"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold,
a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
And then again in Isaiah 9:6:
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and
the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of
Peace."
The arrogant spirit in Islam is demanding the whole of
Jerusalem as their own. We read in The Star newspaper from Kuala Lumpur
in Malaysia, 19 December 2001, the following:
"...Bush signed a waiver on Monday, postponing for six
months any relocation of the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem but
said he was committed to the move in the future. Moving the embassy would
infuriate Palestinians and other Arabs, who would see it as recognition of
Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem after the 1967 Middle East War....
Diplomatic sources in Israel said unofficial contacts were
continuing between Israel and the Palestinians although Prime Minister Ariel
Sharon had declared Arafat 'irrelevant' and severed contacts with him...."
Arafat of course, is in a very dangerous position and has
already prepared himself a place to flee to in Iraq, under the auspices of his
friend, Saddam Hussein. He is in a dreadful position at this time of writing. To
appease the world media -– when he speaks in English he pretends he's doing
his best to control his side of this volitile situation, but when he speaks in
Arabic, he tells his own people that they are committed to Jihad or holy war, to
take the whole city of Jerusalem.
And so the fight continues for the city of Jerusalem, between
the sons of Isaac and the sons of Ishmael, and yet the promise of God was not to
seeds (as many), but to the seed (singular) of Isaac, which would bring forth
our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is established in the book of Galatians 3:16: "Now to
Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds,
as of many; but as of one, and to thy seed, which is Christ." (emphases
added).
The Arab nations need to recognise that their argument is not
with Israel, but with Almighty God who says the whole land of Israel is His and
He has given it to the Jewish race.
We praise God that He has special plans for the Arab nations
also, for He promised Hagar the mother of the Arab nations, that through her
son, Ishmael, they would also be blessed at a certain time, referring to the
time our Lord Jesus Christ would come back to reign King of Kings and Lord of
Lords. God has plans for the Arabs as well...
