The red heifer

On April the 8^th, 2002, we read this headline from
The Temple Institute: "Red Heifer born in Israel! - It can now
be revealed that less than one month ago, a red heifer was born in Israel. After
the heifer's owner contacted the Temple Institute, on Friday, April 5^th,
2002, Rabbi Menachem Makover and Rabbi Chaim Richman traveled to the farm where
the heifer is located, to inspect and validate her status. The rabbis found her
to be kosher and were satisfied that this heifer could indeed be a candidate to
be used in the process of purification described in the book of Numbers, chapter
19. This is an important development towards the rebuilding of the Holy Temple."

Numbers 19:1-7: "And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto
Aaron, saying, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded,
saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer
without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke: And ye
shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the
camp, and one shall slay her before his face: And Eleazar the priest shall take
of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the
tabernacle of the congregation seven times: And one shall burn the heifer in his
sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn: And
the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the
midst of the burning of the heifer. Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and
he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp,
and the priest shall be unclean until the even."

Another article by Stephen M Yulish states: "According to
an article in The Mid-East Dispatch, issue 237, the 16^th of
March 1997, the birth of a red heifer in Israel is being hailed by religious
Jews as a sign from God that work can soon begin on building the Third Temple in
Jerusalem."

(Writer's notes --- This is impossible, of course, as we
have read in Zechariah chapter 6, that Jesus Christ called, THE BRANCH, will
build the Temple Himself. Therefore, these people are half right and half
wrong.)

"The report stated that a team of Rabbinical experts
confirmed that the animal, born six months ago on a religious kibbutz, Kfar
Hassidim, near the northern Israeli port of Haifa, meets the Biblical criteria
for the red heifer needed for purification of those who wish to rebuild the
temple.

As stated in the fourth book of the Torah, Numbers Chapter
19, an unblemished red heifer in which there is no defect and on which a yoke
has never been placed, is to be slaughtered and burned and its ashes made into a
liquid paste used in the ceremony for purification from sin.

Since Herod's Temple was destroyed by the Roman emperor
Titus in AD 70 no flawless red heifer has been born within the Biblical land of
Israel according to Rabbinical sources. Besides, the Jewish people did not see
the re-creation of the State of Israel until 1948, nor the recapturing of
Jerusalem until 1967.

The birth of the animal to a black and white mother and a dun
colored bull is being hailed as a miracle by Jewish activists who want to
rebuild the temple and prepare the way for the Jewish Messiah's entry into
Jerusalem. "We have been waiting for 2000 years for a sign from God", one of
them said, "and now he has provided us with a red heifer."...

Muslims are incensed by this notion of rebuilding the temple
on one of Islam's holiest sites...

The Mid-East Dispatch stated that the Faithful will
have to wait until the heifer is at least three years old, before it can be used
in a ritual sacrifice..."

We are excited for them about the red heifer, but repeat once
again that Jesus Christ will build His own temple and does not need any help
from any person on earth today!
